CLORO at Foro A Poco No: Hechale Productions in Mexico City’s Public Theatre Programme

In June 2026, Hechale Productions presented CLORO at Foro A Poco No, one of the venues of the Sistema de Teatros de la Ciudad de México.

Written by British playwright Dan Ireland-Reeves and directed by Héctor Zavala, the production ran from June 6 to June 21 as part of the official June programme of the Secretaría de Cultura de la Ciudad de México. The city’s cultural authority listed CLORO among the theatre productions presented at Foro A Poco No and identified Hechale Productions as the company behind the staging.

Set inside a bathroom in Mexico City, CLORO follows a young man attempting to cleanse himself of the world around him, his choices, and his own past. Through an intimate encounter with desire, precarity and urban isolation, the work asks what happens when survival and resistance begin to resemble one another.

For Hechale Productions, the production forms part of a broader practice centred on theatre-making across borders, particularly between Mexico and the United States. That work extends beyond production into artistic exchange, collaboration and the development of spaces where artists from different cultural contexts can meet through performance.

The presentation of CLORO within Mexico City’s public theatre programme also reflects a continuing relationship between independent artistic practice and the city’s wider performing arts ecosystem.
