Aída Corral Selected for Artist Residency at Casa Hechale

Mexicali-based artist Aída Corral has been selected to undertake an artist residency at Casa Hechale, an independent cultural centre for theatre, film and performance in Mexico City.
Her selection was recently featured by La Voz de la Frontera, which highlighted her artistic trajectory and upcoming period of research and development in Mexico City.
Working across visual art and interdisciplinary practice, Corral has developed a body of work that engages with public space, collective memory and social experience. Her residency at Casa Hechale forms part of the centre’s ongoing programme supporting artists in the development of new work through dedicated time, space, artistic exchange and engagement with the cultural context of Mexico City.
Based in Santa María la Ribera, Casa Hechale’s Artist Residency Programme brings together artists from Mexico and abroad working across theatre, performance, film, writing and interdisciplinary practices. The programme is conceived as a framework for research, experimentation and the development of work at different stages of an artist’s practice.
Corral’s residency also reflects Casa Hechale’s commitment to strengthening artistic exchange between different regions of Mexico and creating sustained connections between local, national and international artistic communities.
